I have always been intrigued by the passage of time and its effects. I've found that there is an inherent beauty within the confines of structures that have been abandoned, forgotten, and given up on. The sunlight still finds its way through the cracks in boarded up windows, and devoid of people for so long, nature literally reclaims its space.

Muted from decades of neglect, I actively seek out the shocking vibrancy, Iam enthralled by the unexpected barrage of color. Hand-carved furniture, mantles, staircases and bannisters, long out of style and replaced by mass produced items, covered in dust and grime, create textures in the light that I haven't seen elsewhere.

This project has taken me far from home. From New England, New York, Detroit and countless other cities and villages along the eastern seaboard, I have been awestruck by the beauty I've found in places that have been discarded and unloved.

My true vision is to show this work as an installation, so that I may immerse the viewer in the complete experience of what it is like to step into these locations.
